What was the name of the book? I'm interested in reading it.
The Five Rules for Successful Stock Investing-Morningstar's Guide to Building Wealth and WInning in the Market. Pat Dorsey- Director of Stock Analysis There it is. I don't know if Pat Dorsey qualifies as the author but i think the title should be enough to google it :)

Very nice. Out of curiosity, what are the two current winners you are holding onto? Here is a more detailed account of my record: [b:041d459dc4]Wins:[/b:041d459dc4] NVDA SUNW AMD GOOG [b:041d459dc4]Losses:[/b:041d459dc4] AVN SUNW
I haven't traded anything in a while. My buy and hold has been holding steady for a while now. It is a boring way to do things, but without having your eye on the markets all day swing trading is out of the question. (for me at least)
one is SIRIUS - SIRI - entered a while back at .6 and COINSTAR - CSTR - entered at 14.30 if i remember right. i plan to hold these for at least another year and if there is a consequent drop im might buy some more and increase my quantity... through this investment my real challenge was to proove buffetts theory of longevity the longer u keep a good stock the higher the probability of higher return. till now good stocks = good return and that theory seems to hold... the only thing im kiking myself about this investment is that i didn't invest a lot of capital.... but the % increase i guess is making up for it... chahine

[/quote:8579063ea5] Hindsight can be painful. I agonize over the many opportunities I've passed up. I feel your pain. Well, Thanks for sharing your current winners. Wow. SIRI at 60 cents. Good for you. Speaking of SIRI, there seems to be quite a bit of buzz regarding that company here on this forum. And speaking of satellite radio, XMSR will be making some sort of announcement tomorrow about a possible portable satellite receiver device. Sounds interesting. Satellite radio certainly will see a lot of growth once they make the stuff portable. Now, if only it were free... Well, happy investing to you all.
i agree but the only thing i don't like about siri is the fact that their management is not aggressive in their investment turnovers... at least its my impression compared to sirius who targets and moves its market efficiently... IMO XM has to start being aggressive if they want to generate the noise that sirius is... chahine
