Interesting subject. At the current time nothing but I am considering buying some gold "collectables".

I used to collect hockey cards and if you think about buying a pack for what used to be less than $.50 and getting a card that is now worth $50-$100 it is a hell of a gain. There are too many card companies making cards now and the price per pack is insane. Topps and O Pee Chee were the only ones making cards up until the 80's. I have bought some old cards on Ebay of superstars that are already in the Hall of Fame, they should hold or rise in value.

I like your thinking. Indeed, those do represent 1000% type profits. If you're really astute and use Ebay you could probably make some decent extra money that way.

How liquid are the markets for these types of items?

In the "free" states you can do private party sales of rifles and handguns meaning if someone hands me cash I can turn over any gun to them without them having to hassle with a backround check or any government BS whatsoever. I bought a .50 cal rifle for $1900 from a dealer and needed to sell it 6 months later to afford new tile for my house, went to a gunshow and got $2300 for it. My wife used to hate guns until she saw how easy they can be turned into good money. Gun collectors tend to be above middle class and are fully into the hobby, the guy who dies with the best and the most guns wins it seems to be. Also guns are great to pass down to future generations, it is one of the items that families usually hold onto forever but at the same time my kids could sell them and aford to go to college if something were to happen to me. I have a list in my safe of what gun goes where and which can be sold if I were to die. Sorry it was a little long winded.

Ahh, very good. Well that definitely sounds like something very good that you got into. If you have a real good handle on a subject, like you do with guns, that can go a long way towards making this into a nice sideline. I never was much of a gun man myself but I have a few friends who could easily be called "gun nuts" and they don't bat an eye on what they spend. If they want it, they get it.
