 VectorVest  is a highly rated bit of analysis software that has a gentle learning curve, isn't too spendy, and at VectoreVest.com you can sign-up for a 5week trial for nothing. The software has plenty of support from the producers, the cdrom tutorials, the website, user groups, and even pre-made screens for specific objectives a user may have. I have recently installed it have discovered some other perspectives on my current portfolios as well as those of my family's. Just using it has increased my awareness and knowledge of the market and how to better evaluate a company. Check it out, nothing to lose. 23Shadows

As one of many tools it could be useful. I doubt there are too many technical trading only folks out there, but I could be wrong. It seems sort of stupid to limit yourself to mechanical trading. I mean stocks do have an "intrinsic value" and stocks are representative of company's earnings. There's no good reason to ignore one aspect of trading (fundamentals or techinicals) for the other.

i agree with u i believe that even though u do ur own research and so forth u are confident of a company. but a a software can give u better entry price and confirm ur analysis and help u maximize ur profit. IMHO chahine

It's good to use the technical indicators for entry and exit points. Unless your horizon is one year or more.
