Stock Market Game, School Project, need suggestions.
$10,000 really isn't that much if you're talking $500,000 to start with. At the SMS that my school is currently doing we started with $100,000 and my team has $125,000. The top team right now has upwards of 500k, so you could very easily break a million. But on to the stocks you are looking to pick up. First important question to address would be: are there any parameters to your trading (e.g. in my game stocks must be about 5.00).
Suggestion #1: Taser International
Taser (TASR) is just like Sara Lee, nobody doesn't like it. Taser has had some of the most amazing growth that I've ever seen in a stock, and it doesn't seem to have any intention of stopping now. They've announced another 2:1 split at the end of the month. Expect change on this stock of atleat 3.50 a day.
Suggestion #2: Chicos
Chicos (CHS) has long been the poster child of this particular investment forum. Chicos is not high risk but they do have good returns. Chicos just released new press releases and dropped a few bucks a share. I suggest you wait on CHS till it is at about 42 and then buy.
Suggestion #3: Omega Protein
As I browsed through a list of percentage winner's Omega Protein (OME) stood out to me. Not only is it in the Fish Oil industry, and honestly who wouldn't want to say they own stock in fish oil? Omega has a strong history of going up for the length of what Scottrader shows back (anyone with info farther back than 4 years, please enlighten us). Omega has a history of sharp movements up and down, make sure that you buy at the bottom of a downswing, or you could be burned. I see Omega's current upswing having resistance at about $9.00
Suggestion #4: 99 Cents Stores
Well, what my other suggestions lacked in your requested risk, 99 Cents Stores (NDN) more than makes up for this. NDN has been going down hard due to some bad circumstances that have effected the industry. In February NDN came under investigation by the SEC. Just recently they reported lowered earnings due to lost income from the end of the UFCW strike in California. They still plan to open 14 new stores. Their numbers are still strong and are climbing. I believe that this stock has the ability to go up as NDN rebounds from some bad luck.
in my suggestion toastmonger has given u the best stocks however i do enmphasis that TASR will provide u a fast return because of its volatitilty nature on the other hand Chicos would be a slightly gueared towards a bit of safety.

i just relized i can buy up to a million (an additional 500k) on margin...should i use that option? or will that add to much risk to the allready risky stocks
