Looks like CHS has found a new trading range now.
Holy Rollers! 33.75.. go baby go!!! According to news, they have raised thier target to 38 from 33. So this could explain this [b:e49eaef5fd]Excellent gain on CHS[/b:e49eaef5fd] I'm gonna have to go shopping now!!!!

Oh well.. it's never to late to buy more CHS![/quote:89b74a452d] That was on August 29, 2003. Today: October 30, 2003 Market closed at 37.59 up 10.59 per share.. now where is the split?
The last two times they split at $40. So get ready for an announcement. When they split the stock has a tendency to go lower than 1/2. That is the buying opportunity of a lifetime. After their last split they went down tl $11! I bought at $14 so not bad but that would be almost a quadruple since 2002.
I just bought in a few weeks ago, I'm probably not gonna be able to get my shares split huh?
I think that if you had shares at the split, you would be entitled to it also.
Yep. Shareholders of record on the date of the announcement so you are in since they haven't split. YET! My dearly beloved Chico's will be splitting again soon!
Next earnings call is slated for December 2, 2003. The last I logged into my account, this is up over 40 percent for me so far. I am sure they will not disappoint.
I expect to see them announce the split. I would hate to be an idiot Chico's shorty right now.
You'd be "Hurtin' for Certain" if you were short. I haven't been to Chico's lately, but the latest catalog features some very nice things. Even if you (for some reason) didn't like the clothes, their accessories are very nice.
CHS took quite a dive in December, but did a beautiful bounce right after words. However, the stock is now selling for about the same price it was at its lowest in October. Is CHS still something to buy into, I do not think it's going to split any time soon. Did their Christmas sales go good?
They are predicting 18 to 21% SSS growth for December! Keep in mind, these numbers are for Chico's stores only. They haven't even started counting the numbers from their White House aquisition. This stock doubled in 2003 and could very well double again in 2004.
Here are all the splits they have had: Splits:18-Jan-94 [2:1], 18-Jan-00 [2:1], 17-May-01 [3:2], 21-Jan-02 [3:2], 22-Jan-02 [3:2], 30-Jul-02 [2:1] Last year (2002) was full of them. Let's see if they don't hit the watermark price of about 40.00/share and see what happens..
**bumping the thread** :) December same store sales were up almost 25% In a press release Thursday, Chico's said total sales for the five weeks ended Jan. 3, climbed to $91 million from $56.5 million last year. Still looks like a winner to me!
The day of Earnings they were $38. Then the Sell Off began. They go down to $33 after the elephants piled out. Now the buyers are back and they're at $38 again. This happens every 3 months on their earnings date. Defintely a way to make a quick $5 per share in a few weeks.
It would be nice to see this one over 40.00.. Maybe we'll see this happen sometime in the next couple of weeks..
**bumping thread again!** Did anyone here happen to catch June's numbers? In the mid 40's now.. looking to climb higher :)
Are you guys still buying at the price it is at now? I'm trying to wait untill it gets down in the low 30's or splits and dips.
I've held since I bought it (27.00/share) Snippet: For the twenty-two weeks ended July 3, 2004, total sales increased 49.5% to $440 million from $295 million for the same period a year ago. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 17.6% for the twenty-two week period compared to the same twenty-two week period last year. Very impressive numbers there.. STAND BACK!!
