Another investment for me

Pity the home invader that stumbles into your house :)

As you all know I collect guns for investment, well this weekend I also bought my first custom made knife. I went with my friend to a knife store in Phoenix his friend owns and he gave me a good deal on this knife.. http://www.classicgunsandknives.com/knifeinfo.asp?ItemID=100615 The engraving was done by the knifemakers wife and she is really good at it, the engraving alone is worth $350-400. The custom knife world is better for investments than even the gun world as in knives they are all one of a kind...not production.

That's a nice looking knife. How much does your investment look to get when you sell it?

[quote:e16dae7adf="Hathor"]That's a nice looking knife. How much does your investment look to get when you sell it?[/quote:e16dae7adf] I'm learning in knives it's all about the knifemaker. I could have bought 2 or 3 knives from a guy who doesn't have a big name in the industry but I'm learning from my friend that it is all about the guy who made it. The one I bought was made by a guy named D' Alton Holder, he is one of the best known knifemakers in the world. Here is another one that was listed on Ebay that didn't break the reserve.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2227220306&category=43325&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBDW%3AIT&rd=1 I've always like guns for the fact that I can have something in my hands to play with and if I need to I can sell for more than what I paid for it. Investments don't all have to be boring.

You went to Phoenix and didn't say hi to me? *cry*

It always makes sense to invest in something you're passionate about and weapons seem to be a big interest. I'm sure in a very specialized market like that you'll make a ton of money.

[quote:da7481908a="ToastMonger"]You went to Phoenix and didn't say hi to me? *cry*[/quote:da7481908a] I went to the Crossroads gunshow and then was at Classic Guns and Knives for most of the day Friday and Saturday...is that near you?

Here's what I brought home from Phoenix.... [img:2fcdf47428]http://www.hunt101.com/img/110968-big.jpg[/img:2fcdf47428]

[quote:e1566abeb2="HappyHarry"]What's in the bags in the upper left?[/quote:e1566abeb2] Those are AR-15 lower recievers.. [img:e1566abeb2]http://www.burnerblog.com/gallery/albums/userpics/AR15A4/normal_AR15A4%20006.jpg[/img:e1566abeb2] I talked about getting them in this thread.. That ought to hold you. In the event of "all hell breaking lose" you are pretty prepared.

In other news the Assualt Weapon Ban is DEAD!! Woo freaking HOO!! http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/03/02/senate.guns/index.html

Doesn't that kill the resell value now?

No, the ones in that pic are post-bans anyways. "Assualt weapons" were never really banned, just a few cosmetic features couldn't be added to ones made after Sept 14 1994, now on Sept 15 2004 all of them can have the "evil features" that were banned for the 10 years. Not one person was ever convicted under the ban, it did no good but to restrict law abiding citizens. Those AR-15 lowers are usually $100-$125 at gunshows so $75 ea was a steal. I'll keep them because I'm sure all of this "We're banning guns for the kids" garbage will come up again and again. The only guns that lost value today were pre-bans, I have 2 of them. One I bought off of a famous author so I'd never sell it anyways and the other I bought at a post-ban price so I won't lose money IF I did sell it.

You can shoot people and get a return on investment! I love this country :)

HAHAHAH !!! chahine

[quote:be7a462cd6="HappyHarry"]You can shoot people and get a return on investment! I love this country :)[/quote:be7a462cd6] :? Um, I'm a collector and an enthusiast, not a criminal. My guns have killed less people than Ted Kennedy's car.

lol. good to hear that you are an outstanding citizen! I don't think I'd want to break into your house, though. even if you are just enthusiastic! :)

could end up with a lot of scars and unexpected holes HAHAHAHAH     Chahine

I'm bidding on this right now, it's worth anywhere from $600-$800. I'm hoping to get it for $450 or around that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2230419741&category=43325

$170 now so you definitely have a chance.
