IBD calculates RS in every issue. I think Barron's does too. I'll see if I can find an online one.
I thought relative strength was typically used to compare the current price of a stock to a previous price, basically calculated as a ratio of -- for example -- current price / price 30 days ago. Can you explain how you are using it to compare against other stocks? Thx in advance.
Relative strength is a measure of how well a stock is performing compared to the larger universe of stocks in its sector. In IBD's system, its a big indicator of momentum. This is another technical indicator that mirrors good fundamental news for the company. Companies with higher R/S are almost always industry leaders funamentally too.
