i know interesting for sure!!! i guess that the war in iraq should get them some good returns... hmmm what do they know that we don't... chahine
Insiders took some profits. This is a snippet from Forbes write up: The military deployment is the latest in a long string of good news at Taser, which has seen its stock price grow as though it was prodded along by one of its painfully shocking weapons. Trading at a split-adjusted $61.06 as of Tuesday's close, its price has increased a seemingly ridiculous [b:68447a81c6]4,900% over its 52-week low of $1.22.[/b:68447a81c6] (It split three-for-one last week.) That is an insane increase!
do you think it can go back to those heights again?? chahine
The insiders dumped a ton! RED FLAG!
What about correction facilities? This seems like another growing population segment that might need "stunning" every once and again.
This could be a bright star. If you have 10 shares Hathor, hang on. See what happens, especially since it's such a small holding. It could really pay off. This one is going to go up again.
The market is untapped but the stock valuation is insane. If you buy the stock now you are buying 166 years of future earnings.
That is true. If there are no other companies competing with them, that would almost have to qualify them as being a "monopoly" in that market.. Or at least until some one else starts going head to head with them in that arena.
hmmm im tempted of buying TASR :? chahine
It's up 8.5% now! This stock has quite a personality.
i know and i hate major movements that i don't have control over.... chahine
I'm not sure anyone has control over TASR's movements. Nasqaq stocks are extra choppy in trading.
what i mean by control is a more accurate knowledge of the direction it is going or could go towards.... TASR goes up a down like a ball could be good to go in and out of and make money but is risky... chahine
It's almost like a manic depressive. Unless this falls much beneath 50.00 I am still ahead. I would love to ride it up to 100 again. That would be sweet!
but if it falls below 40 which i doubt will occur i will get in... with maybe only 2 or 3 shares but i think this company has the potential to maintain its status... chahine
What's the chance it's coming all the way down to $40? And then when it does you're gonna buy 2 shares? You live dangerously my man :P
I doubt this one will be coming back down under 40 anytime soon. 2 shares is a big stake! Almost as many as my pathetic 10! We all just need more capital is all :)
i figured  chahine
They are close to selling many more to the military. Military contracts should mean big money.
This stock has a hell of a trading range. If we were to carefully study it, we could make a lot of money on the volatility.
You are right about that. I have decided that I am making this one a "grandkid stock" One of those that you tuck away for a number of years and leave behind to a grandkid.. it might be worth a small fortune!
definitely agree with you on that hathor.... very volatile but strong... chahine
They have a nice "story" for their business.
TASR was trading at 50 some couple of weeks ago trading at 74.90,s right now... not bad chahine
They just announced a new contract worth 780,000. It seems there is still al ot of room to grow with this one. That is why I dumped all of my other stocks (except CHS) to buy more of this. I have a feeling this is a good move.
i personnally agree with u... have been following it go up and down i predict the there will be another split near the 100$s that is my final taught of the day..... chahine
[quote:adc614a3a1="chahinemm"] that is my final taught of the day..... chahine[/quote:adc614a3a1] That's not a good thing! Be careful driving. :)
no driving today sleeping and studying and studying and sleeping chahine :?
Good Luck to you on your upcoming finals. I'm sure you will do well :) Get your rest! Study and Ace them..
Good luck, Chahine! It will be fun when its over :)
thanks you guys... i hope to do well in them.... im entering in my final year i require to do well.... its a question of life and death and future job... chahine
I'm sure it will all work out great.
No worries :) I'm sure you ace them with no sweat.. Then it's time to get a job :)
job is the hard part... damn economy is weird shape... nearly no one is hiring now a days.... :? well as my dad would say there is a time for everything... and patience and hard work is the key.... so i guess ill keep on rushing my resumes around and hope a company would see it and be delighted to get a hard working, person..... well that is enough dreaming back to work.SLAP SLAP  ... chahine
Companies aren't hiring because they know its cheaper to outsource. The trend is irreversible. People are going to have to enter non-traditional roles and businesses in the future. The companies are operating leaner than ever before. That is helping earnings trend up. This won't be reversed any time soon.
i agree but not good for me as entry level position.... 8O :? chahine
What position are you looking for? I know its in business..
to tell u the truth in the starting im ready to enter in whatever aspect... marketing, finance, IT, HR, Management... anything that would help me just settle down... in any company size offcourse... after that im settled down will go towards carreer... chahine
You just have to present your best image. When you go out to the interviews you have to sell yourself. If you do a good enough job of selling yourself, companies will hire you. They look for personality in new people.
thnx will definitely keep that in mind!!! Chahine
And you should defintely bring stock certificates of TASR with you. People will be sure you're a genius :P
HAHAHAHAHH chahine
I have to agree with HappyHarry on that one. Selling yourself is the best thing you can do to get hired. Be sure to wear a nice suit (that goes without saying) and your shoes have a shine! Are you willing to relocate or stay in your area?
I saw a promo for a scary story about TASR. They said 50 people have DIED. Now I'm not sure when this piece airs, but that is definitely a boost for the shorts. If these malfunction, what happens to this sky high stock? It's at a P/E of 214! That means 214 YEARS of earnings to recover the stock price :)
Las Vegas Police just started carrying them and were requiring officers to be tasered to see what it feels like and what it does. Well, a few of the officers ended up in the hospital due to hitting their head on the concrete after being tasered. That may be why some die after being shot with it. I'm old school, give the cop a big stick and a gun.
its expensive to shoot them. the bullets are cheap but the lawsuits are crazy.
They announced that they are not going to offer any additional stocks. So I think that is helping to raise the price. As for the death thing, I think that a gunshot is more deadly, at least with a taser gun a victim *probably* won't die. He had to seriously been disregarding the wishes of officers to get tased in the first place. As for the officers having to go to the hospital, maybe they should have a padded floor or something to fall on, just in case.?
[quote:cb50b4ee12="Hathor"] As for the officers having to go to the hospital, maybe they should have a padded floor or something to fall on, just in case.?[/quote:cb50b4ee12] I can tell from that sentence you don't have a job in government. You actually think!
most cops have very hard heads. the others can wear rubber helmets.
Bit of a pullback today! This one is a roller coaster!
Way up today! TASR 2 for 1 split!
My 60 shares are going to double. This kicks a**. :) Good call Bobjitsu. No government job for me. If someone had a brain they would have thought of a padded floor. I mean, how many times can this happen and nobody says "hey, how can we prevent the officers from cracking their heads?" Common sense to me..
thanx to me i bought TASR on the table :P chahine
chahine.. what do you mean by on the table?
i started the post on TASR... chahine
Gotcha. It is way up today! Trading at 96.00.. I am up over 1,600.00 on 60 shares. Earnings announcement is on 4/20/04, and the split is going to be the end of April. Shareholders on record as of April 15 will get the split. I think I might wait and buy more at the split when the price goes down. Add to my position.
definitely in my opinion as a company that is not going to loose money any time soon.... GOOD JOB Hathor.... chahine
TASR hits 100 bucks without surprise.... gj hathor on a lucrative investment.... chahine
Splits are almost always good news.
well they announced a 2:1 split for april 29 if im not wrong so that is good... chahine
I've been watching it for so long since it was around 50.... seriously IT NEVER STOPS....
my guess is that as the split will occur the price will fall a bit below 50 and i think that would be a perfect time to load up.... a nice growth perspective is available for this stock in my opinion... still has along way to go before it gets drained totally... chahine
Another strong move today. This one has momentum to burn. Usually I'm not that impressed by stocks that move on momentum but this move from TASR is seriously impressive. There is so much demand for the stock that the price just keeps on pressing forward.
Just talked my dad into buying 35 shares of TASR for his IRA....I'm glad I finally got him to do that. Should make up for the catastrophic losses on Mirant energy.....honestly how was I supposed to know they'd go Bankrupt.
35 Shares might be plenty. If TASR keeps the good news coming, the run will be unreal. There are still a ton of short shares in this one!
I think the only certain way to find out whether a stock will go up or down is for me to buy it...Oi Vai....down 35 bucks today
20 Dollar fluctuations are normal with this one. Let me tell you what happened yesterday. A major shareholder sold off over a MILLION shares. Yes over 1 MILLION shares, so of course the stock is going to dump. The war of the Longs and Shorts..
Man this one got hammered! Reaffirms that stocks move in two directions. Ouch!
The split has taken place and TASR is down in the 30's now
in my opinion its a good price for a nice ride!!! chahine
In my opinion I wish I hadn't bought it at 110
If you guys like TASR look into ADOT.OB
TASR has definitely slowed down since the stock split...it's gone from extremely high volitility to relatively stable. Its only moving about a buck a share/per day now.
i wuold say better 1 buck up than 10 buck down ;) i liket aht company a lot... but still i have not scruitinized it a lot lately to see if its fundamnentals have changed or not... but i think its a very safe company.. chahine
There sales are very strong. The stock is getting lower priced all the time so its getting close to being a bargain.
[quote:9162b6112c="FatFreddie"]There sales are very strong. The stock is getting lower priced all the time so its getting close to being a bargain.[/quote:9162b6112c] hear u there freddie!!! getting better and better day by day... coming close to my entry price.... chahine
This definitely shows you something: how a "growth stock" becomes a "value stock". But the best value stocks are the ones that have plenty of growth charateristics. That could be TASR very soon.
i beleive for sure.... this stock is very trendy what i mean is that it goes head to head with the indexes which can be a good thing offcourse also goes against it but i beleive this kind of stock are safe and sage investments for a long way with a good margin of safety and if u have a strong stamina for ups and downs and buying more when down offcourse... chahine
when is there next earning report??? chahine
There are still plenty of shares short. If they have breakout earnings, things could get very interesting fast.
This split has really had a negative impact on the share price.... I personally think there should be a buy back if they have some extra cash, hopefully this is just happening due to the interest rate scare etc.
Crushed. Crushed. Crushed. Bad timing on my part. A hard lesson learned. I was up crazy money, and resisted the urge to sell. Now I am bummed. Another hard lesson in setting Stop losses. It can really save your butt should you get in to a big decline..
It's easy to say and even easier to do: set a stop loss! This thing was up to $120 per share! Got to protect your profits.
It's been bad times all around for Taser since the split. I think it's still a valuable stock....they're still recieving heavy orders from police departments. Still, it'll probably be a few more months until they start to trend upwards again. Thoughts?
It is possible TASR has bottomed out for now and could be a long option or stock candidate if you are willing to hold on for more than 30 days or so. I have been long on TASR and still expect an upswing when there is some more news as earnings approaches. Hathor: just a reason why options are such a valuable tool. When you had such a huge gain in TASR, you could have used options to lock in a profit and still participate on the upside. If TASR tanked, long puts would have hedged your loss completely and you could have gotten out with your money and still made even more if TASR kept on running higher. Even if you are a conservative stock investor, options should not be overlooked as a means to reduce your risk and lock in some gains. We can tlak more about options if you wish :-)
Time to have patience. Their earnings are still enormous.
Looks like they are having a mini rally. Forecasts are looking good for them. I see the need for security everywhere, no shortage for a market either..
what has happened to tasr in the last couple of days its taking a beating... is it normal or is there some news that i have missed... chahine
News came out today that the executives of taser were selling all their shares, and it took a big bite. I got out today as well. Nipped that at the butt before it got much worse. :)
hmm 2 reason could be there management knows something or that management are taking profit and might reinvest later... in my opinion if there were no 2 split this stock would be worth around 150$ well this is one stock im just looking at for now... making a quick trade in and out for few percent but i don't think i ll go for long in this as i intented... chahinemm
Taser has been doing really well since they recently opened up sales to the public. I think a lot of people out there are interested in the possibility of owning one. I took a look on the website and the prices range anywhere from $399 to $999 depending on the model. Either way, it's been following Taser's decision to sell to the general public that it's stock has started climbing.
Today TASR took a big hit and the yahoo message boards were filled with nothing but people who were selling it short. This stock's instability makes it really fun to watch. :P
[quote:2baee398af="shortie"]This could be a bright star. If you have 10 shares Hathor, hang on. See what happens, especially since it's such a small holding. It could really pay off. Holding 75 shares of TASR I bought at 29 after the split and half to agree, this one will be a keeper. 8)
:welcome aboard... chahine
OH CRAP!!! Look out Monday TASR bound to bottom out yat again. [b:614dd98336]La. Man Dies After Deputies Use Stun Gun[/b:614dd98336] METAIRIE, La., Dec 04, 2004 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- A man sheriff's deputies had shot twice with a stun gun died Saturday, a day after he was pulled over for driving erratically, officials said. Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman John Fortunato said Patrick Fleming died at a hospital. Officers had used a Taser stun gun on him twice when he fought with them - once after the traffic stop and then later at the jail. Fortunato said Fleming, 35, was hospitalized after officers zapped him a second time and his breathing became labored. Fortunato said the office would have no further comment Saturday. There was no immediate word on when an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death. A records check found that Fleming was wanted on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Fleming also had a history of resisting arrest and arrests for possession of coca leaves, crack cocaine and marijuana. Amnesty International reported last week that at least 74 people have died in the United States and Canada in the past four years after being shocked with stun guns manufactured by Taser International Inc. The company has defended its product, saying in the majority of Taser-related fatalities, coroners have attributed the cause of death to heart problems, drug overdose or asphyxiation. [quote:c27fc70dd3="chahinemm"]nice even better news for me... ill be able to load some more ;) chahine[/quote:c27fc70dd3] Yea, I'll probably unload then reload at the end of the day.
nice kirk ill buy some of urs ;) and hold it for some time... according to my view this stock is in the final growth rush till it will stabilize into a steadier run.. but i could be wrong because it depends on how management and customers will react in the future... if management become more aggressive on a per $ investment than ti will continue growth... customers maintain satisfaction on their product than they will continue to perserve their image and allow them to flourish in the market they belong. well thats my late night taughts :) chahine

However, can someone explain how the hell to sell in after hours??? 8O Yea, I tried to sell it but the order was going in to sell after the bell not when I placed it :x
I think it's smart you're bailing. The accusations of product deaths are starting to mount.
[quote:17444bd81f="chahinemm"]nice even better news for me... ill be able to load some more ;) chahine[/quote:17444bd81f] You can have my 75 shares chahinemm :? Just sold it and lost a arm. My RIMM took a hit also, lost close to $500 of my $1500 in profits. :x Thinking about jumping on the SIRI bandwagon
one thing i really don't like about TASR: the ceo is way too concerned with the stock price.
