Too late to invest?!

Yep, they're mistaken. Bunch of idiots, as a matter of fact. As long as earnings go up, stock prices go up. More and more companies are announcing solid earnings so stock prices will continue to go up.

I'll think twice before buying the stock

If this link doesn't work try this one http://www.e-mastertrade.com/en/main/reviews/default.asp article name STOCK MARKET IS OVERBOUGHT. TOO LATE TO INVEST!

They "proved" that stocks aren't going up anymore? LOL. All I get is a page not found. :P

They're entitled to their opinion, but I don't share it. Dow 20,000 here we come!

hahahha that was a funny article even though i had to surf the site to find it.... well i don't agree with them because maybe according to them its the highest its gone but i think this is the time to get in for most investors are getting more confidence after the tragic 9/11 economic chaos.... even though don't forget that the economy was unstable before it IMHO.... i think 9/11 was just a catalyst to the whole problem.... but i think eventhough the treasury could have pushed recovery faster did a fairly good job to balance the economy... the question im asking myself is how long the US economy is going to be able to sustain so much financial pressure... It looks in a good shape but still shows signs of shakiness... offcourse these are IMHO... feel free to argue them...i try to see it in an external view... you guys inside see it better than i would... and u guys would have and know more detail about it... chahine

I think the economy is much better in the US. Many companies are pounding out great earnings. Earnings fuel more hiring, more investment and everything else. And it all hinges on confidence. The more confident everyone is, the higher they stock market goes. There are two emotions that rule the stock market according to Livermore and others: Fear and Greed. Now is not the time to be fearful when you should be greedy.

Pepper...stay out of the market. That website says so.

[quote:a0cbdecf06="bobjitsu"]Pepper...stay out of the market. That website says so.[/quote:a0cbdecf06] I'm not joking. People who lost money on last fall can understand me.

I don't really think of a huge faceless entity called the "Stock Market". I tend to focus on individual stocks. There are a number of individual stocks that are performing amazingly well. If you focus on those stocks, you will get excellent returns no matter what the market does. My whole investment career has occured during the so-called worst bear market ever. With the type of results I've had in the last few years I can only imagine how easy it is to make money in a bull market.

Pepper, there are plenty of people who share your pessimism. I am very bullish right now. I'm planning on buying more stock today.

Didn't I just read this thread somewhere else? Or am I mistaken..

[quote:65436dff28="HappyHarry"] Dow 20,000 here we come![/quote:65436dff28] I hope so :P

Well what do you suggest? You want us to leave our money under or pillows or buy T-Bonds? :P

[quote:ce2e92cf19="HappyHarry"]Well what do you suggest? You want us to leave our money under or pillows or buy T-Bonds? :P[/quote:ce2e92cf19] Pillows and T'Bonds are not very good choices. I'll go short probably

What do you plan on shorting?

Stock market started to fall long before 9/11. I agree that US economy in good shape right now. But stock market shows very good results, it increase heavily then economy. That's is what I can't understand.

[quote:75c5f2416c="FatFreddie"]What do you plan on shorting?[/quote:75c5f2416c] Read the article. I don't believe that stock market in a good shape. I'm afraid to go long.

You can do whatever you want. I think there are a lot of buying opportunities out there. I am not afraid. Fear is useless... and also a great waste of time. Stack your bills under your pillow and make zero, that sounds like a terrific plan.

If you think it's going down, short it. Short the indexes.

well if u think that its going bad think about it this way.... the indexes s&P nasdaq ect... have been going up and down.... if lets say in s&p all the companies were bad the decline would be unstopable... AGREE that means that there are companies and opportunities out there that maintains the indexes stable or helping them move up... i think our job is to find those opportunities at a cheaper rate and wait and that i can guaranty u will make u more money... IMHO chahine

Market goes down. What can you say about this? Maybe it was really overbought????

Or it's in flux. Which in reality it always is. All of the broad markets were down yesterday, but I'm still holding to about 30% gains within my own portfolio. Set stops to make sure you hang on to your $$. Happy Trading!

That's the main reason I try not to pay attention to the market and pay more attention to individual stocks.

[quote:54f1712d1c="alfredsokol"]That's the main reason I try not to pay attention to the market and pay more attention to individual stocks.[/quote:54f1712d1c] Most of the stocks follow the market!!!

i agree with u that most stocks do... but NOT ALL!!! that means our job as investors is to find companies that are independent of the market and invest in those and those are the companies that will make money.... but finding those companies is a challenge because there aren't many of them... hey if u have that much money BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY is one trading at about 1000+$ a pop.... chahine

Great stocks lead the market. They don't follow. That's why you base everything on earnings.

2 thumbs up...... chahine

So what did you end up doing? Just curious since there wasn't any follow up..

He shorted Chico's and was never seen again. :P

Man I am so glad I decided to ignore this guy's naysaying and be remain fully invested in stocks! Thank God I didn't sell a single one of my 500 Shares of CHS! The ones I'm holding from $14 are really started to do well at $47 :)

the way i see the stock even though i know very limited about its outlets and never been to one but i can see a very bright future for it.... chahine

They should open stores in Canada some day.

i'm going to go there this weekend.. i saw them advertising for a bunch of open positions at monster.com they are looking for workers, which is more than a lot of other comapnies can say right now.

Increased hiring is probably always a good sign.

If the company knows what they are doing ***

yeh hathor good idea they should open a chain in canada and i will be there manager :D chahine

lol@chahine! I would have rather been one of the lucky ones that got in on a franchise. There aren't too many out there..
