Need some help with Alcoa Inc.

I personally have never invested in Alcoa. After taking a quick look, It's not one stock I'd get into right now. Remember back when I told you about my favorite present stock Crucell- CRXL. It's a Dutch Pharmaceutical company that develops many vaccines for various diseases and patents them. They then rent out thier patents to other drug companies to use for a periods of time. Crucell has present deals with pfiser,Aventis and many other companies. I purchased stock in this company on 11-24-03 for $4.28 a share. Today this stock closed at $8.32. I believe this to be the best stock for the next 3-4 years. Do your own DD. I'm looking to see a share price close to $30 by the end of that time period. This company has vaccines in various stages of development for ebola,Influenza, malaria and west nile. CRXL is on the NASDAQ NM Check it out www.crucell.com

This is your first post, according to post count.. 8O

Hathor, I know Capitalist from AR15.com, he is a long time member there and told me about it in email. :D

It doesn't cost you anything to hold long term (fee wise)as long as you have at least $2000 worth of cash or stock. I bought crxl through Ameritrade. Trades are $10.99 I don't see a downside with Ameritrade. I been using them for 2 years.

..Sorry 'bout that, I was outta the loop.. forgive me.. Not all stocks are available through Sharebuilder, Looks like it's priced under 10.00..

Damn, for the small amount of stock I buy every month Sharebuilder is good for me, it's $12 a month for up to six transactions then $2 for each one after that. I might consider moving in the future if I buy more every month.

Alcoa is hugely Cyclical, so not one that I would consider for a long term "buy and hold" strategy. Based on natural resources prices Alcoa can get really hammered at times. For stocks put on automatic investment plans, go with a company with even earnings year in and year out.

Well, they earned 39 cents a share. A nickel over views. Strengthening demand for aluminum boosted prices.. Sales rose 9 percent to 5.53 billion, best in 11 quarters.

I'll second the endorsement for Ameritrade. I've had them since they were Datek and they are decent for most trades. You probably have to buy 100 at once rather than 2 a week like Sharebuilder but that's worth doing. You can also get Margin and expand your trading pretty easily.
