what is the current Risk Free Rate?

.. as much as you can afford to lose! :welcome it is actually considered to be the quoted rate on an asset that has virtually no risk. Treasury Notes would be a good example.

So the rate on a Treasury note would be considered the risk free rate. How can i find the rate on a Treasury Note? are we talking about a 1 yr note? Is there a web site where i could find this rate?

Here is a link. Rates vary because there are different types of notes. www.publicdebt.treas.gov/sec/sec.htm Hope it is helpful!

I appreciate your help but i need some more if you dont mind. form the site i got that a 6 month note is priced at 994.79 for a $1000 note but what is the annual interest rate that i can use for the risk free rate? sorry i'm so stupid!

http://www.calcbuilder.com/cgi-bin/calcs/5.8/BON15.cgi/yahoo_bonds You can input into the required fields to figure out your return etc.

Cool thanks, thats what i was looking for. thanks for all your help.

No problem! Glad I could be of assistance! Happy Investing :)
